A 19-year-old man was arrested after carrying a gun onto a Winnipeg Transit bus Thursday morning.
According to police, there were reports of gunshots being fired around 6 a.m. in the 100 block of Albina Way in the city’s Tyndall Park neighbourhood.
Some witnesses in the area told police they saw a man with a gun get onto a bus shortly after the shots were fired.
Police followed the bus to a stop at Ross Avenue and Isabel Street in the Centennial neighbourhood, where they arrested the man at about 6:20 a.m.
They said they seized a firearm at the scene, adding that the shooting on Albina Way did not appear to be directed at anyone.
